Grande Prairie has diverse industries including energy, agriculture, and forestry. It is exciting to know that demand for qualified and competent workers in our region continues to grow.

Because of the energy sector we are a hub of innovation, and our positive influence is far reaching. We continue to produce the cleanest and most ethically sourced oil in the world. Demand for energy products continues to grow on the world stage, and we are uniquely positioned to bring the solution. I am committed to fighting against Rachel Notley’s friend, Justin Trudeau, and his plan to “Just Transition,” and I will always be proud of our energy sector and those in Grande Prairie who work tirelessly to fuel the world. It is a dream of mine to see Alberta energy become the main source for energy nation-wide, and then to expand our customers on the world stage.   

Alberta is and has historically been a global leader in food development and distribution. We need to work to continue to remove unnecessary barriers that inhibit the distribution of our world-class agriculture products to the rest of Canada and the world.  We need to re-establish our farmers as the experts in their field (literally!) and unleash their potential to feed the world. We need to continue to push for the elimination of the federal carbon tax which inhibits not only their bottom line, but their ability to bring their yields to the world.

With four large forestry operators in our region, forestry is one of our most valued economic contributors both locally and provincially. Aside from employing thousands of individuals in our region, Northwestern Alberta produces a large portion of Alberta’s pulp, panel board, and timber, and we continue to provide our first-class forestry products to markets all over the world. With high environmental and product standards, our forestry products will continue to be in high demand on the world stage.
